Today's Technologies -- Shelby Peavey & Cindy Wolent

Twitter is a fast growing social networking site, everyone from the average Joe to the hottest celebrities are using it. I even have my very own twitter and I can’t seem to keep myself away from it. On twitter you can interact with friends and you can send and receive messages known as tweets and you can follow just about everyone. But not everyone uses twitter though many people have chosen to use FaceBook or maybe even MySpace but they are all a fast growing social network sites and they all let you interact with people around the world. Another great feature you can have on your computer is a program called Skype; Skype is a Swedish software application that allows users to make voice and calls over the Internet. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a small fee using a debit card. Skype has also become popular for their additional features which include instant messaging, file transfer and video conferencing. Technology in the workplace has changed over the decade; there are so many ways to communicate. I have seen this used first hand this program is called Google Docs; Google Docs is a heavily used program in the work place where you are able to edit a document with a person or a group of people, this is good if you may need help editing your document. Google Docs is used even in the schools today; I know in our shop if we are working together we have used this program. I think the technologies today have really made things quite simple in the workplace, for communication and editing a document with someone around the world.
