Rejected from college because of social networking profile?

I read this article on how 10% of universities now examine social network profiles when they are evaluating applicant. Those statistics are still on the rise. Colleges want to see if your social networking profiles reveal anything they need to be concerned about before they accept you. I think it is okay for them to do that because applications and resumes don't portray students completely and truthfully all the time, it just shows the good things not anything negative about a student. But I do think colleges should let it be aware that their potential students public display of information is being taken into consideration. The article can be found here.
