Well-Done and Raw Websites

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/myspace.com

This site is supposed to be a source for information about Myspace. It shows charts with percentages of keywords searched and the differentiation from month to month what’s trending and not trending. However the charts all have weird pop-ups in front of them and I am not sure how I am supposed to click them out. The background is also white and very plain except for the very top of the page there is a small header with the name of the site in it.

http://espn.go.com/

This is my favorite website personally it has all the sports news i need including rumors and current developments. Browsing is easy the website is split up by every type of sport and even certain cities can be viewed exclusively.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

A good website I've found was Illamasqua, a makeup company which I frequently purchase from. Their website is easy to navigate, uncluttered, and compelling. You can move easily forward with the navigation, and there is live chat assistance if needed. They provide good product descriptions as well as accurate photographs. Their tutorials are helpful and inspiring.

Under the category of bad/ugly websites falls this gem: Kids Know It. It is the "Internet's Most Popular Educational Website for Kids". Visibly, this website is atrocious. The background and colors clash. The navigation blocks are too large, and the links are cluttered. Furthermore, the links go outside their designated spaces. Most of the educational songs/games/etc. do not play, and their links are broken. Even though this website is terribly ugly, it is educational, and the children don't seem to mind.

Websites: good & bad

Bad:

www. Raft.org

This is an example of a poorly designed website. the background of the guy with the raft takes away from the text. There are way too many links and unwanted colors that make it look un professional. some of the links dont even work. there are too many pictures and it is distracting.

Good:

Minnettista.com

Worst Website Ever...And the Best!

I found this website to be one of the worst websites i have ever seen. It is extremely hard to read and there isn't much content on it. The website is missing information and it irritates my eyes. Some the headings make no sense and there are annoying jiff images that don't have anything to do with the website. There is poor formatting and the information is messy and doesn't make sense. All in all,  this website is horrible.

Website:
http://home.comcast.net/~dmaneyapanda/zugorific/personal2.html

I chose the Apple website as my good website. I liked this website because i thought It was easy to use and attractive. It is not hard to read at all because the color scheme fits. All of the content makes sense and the images fit the page very well. The format is perfect and it provides lots of useful information. I think this is a well designed website.

Website:
http://www.apple.com/

Good Vs. Bad

http://dancing-baby.net/BabyMus1.htm - This is an example of a poorly designed website. To be completely honest it doesn't even seem like there is any point to this website. It has a baby dancing on it but I don't understand the reason why. I'd also like to say that the design isn't really attractive at all.

http://www.apple.com/ - This would be an example of a good attractive website. I like the way it looks. It also loads pretty fast and it's not confusing to read. Another good thing about the apple website would be the fact that there is actually a point to it! Unlike the website above.

People need to learn how to make websites.

Possible one of the worst websites I found in my brief search had to be of a Danish website named arngren, which can be found here. The key problem I have with this website is the lack of any thing all it is is a line of text.

The best website I personal have ever used was Google which can be found here. Google is simple and easy to use.

Good and Bad

http://ikissyou.org/

Is an example of a horribly put together website because there isn't really any structure and is very plain. It is a very boring page to look at, with almost everything being white and black. with the exception of few pictures.

http://www.amazon.com/

Amazon has a very nice setup to it, i like how there are many colors, but it is not overwhelming. It is easy to use and has a very nice format.

Bad Websites?

It took me awhile to find a bad website but i finally found a horrible website, it's called hosanna1 and i'm pretty sure it's based around dogs. First off when you look at the website you can tell there is too much going on. They have a moving background that distracts the reader, and there's too much text that isn't aligned which makes it hard to read. The website itself is poorly made, the text is hard to read since it is white text on a scenic moving background. You can't really read the small text and i wasn't sure what buttons to actually press to get to other parts of the website since the text looked like all the ads that were also on the website. If the creator spent more time editing their alignment, text and just the whole concept of the page it could be a pretty decent website.

I feel one of the best websites out there is Bing. Their layout is easy to use and it helps you better than google. I like the fact that every background on their homepage is different and still makes the website look good. Overall simple websites you can follow are the best ones on the internet.

Bad Websites/Good Webites

This website is a bad example because there are too much pictures and needs more information on what's the cheapest car. The pictures are too close to each other. There's too much words all over the page. There's too much color. The pictures are too small. The words are showing on the pictures saying things that has nothing to with this site. When you click on the video it doesnt open up. http://lingscars.com

This website is a good example because it has a lot of pictures and it shows what its talking about. It has good videos. If you wanted to see what happened you would click on a link. www.cnn.com/

Bad and Good Web Design

Web design can be a very tricky thing. You have to create a website that is appealing and gets the point across to the person visiting your website. Apple.com is a great website that not only is neat an organized but shows almost every product the company has to offer. It also has a good amount of animations but not too many to be distracting. http://industrialpainter.com/f/painting-contractor.html is a good example of what not to do. The website is a jumbled mess with a ton of distracting animations. In fact there are so many animations going on it looks pretty chaotic. It also has horrible music playing in the background. I don't even know how they accepted this as their website as its pretty embarrassing. It makes their business look a lot less professional.

Bad Site compared to a Good Site

Here is the link to a very bad website (BEWARE a lot of colors moving). This site has a lot of colors blinking and moving on the home page. It gives you a headache after a while (picture is below). Another reason is when a person clicks off into the links on this site, all the links have different backgrounds. For a religious site, I don't know how a rainbow on the home page has anything to do with what they are showing to there views. On this site, nothing really interesting is on the home page that makes people become interested in its content.

A good site would be MSN, it has information placed in good spots and it attracts the viewer. It also has a good color pattern and is constant on most pages.
