Good and Bad Websites: The Difference

Well let's start with the bad one first. This website was chosen as the bad example because of the irony. They claim to be computer specialists and their website design skills. To make matters worse they even offer website design as one of their services which I honestly hope is their version of a sense of humor. Their main page and every single page is dreadfully boring with nothing but a distracting animation at the top. Their "clients" link is broken, which makes me think they have no clients. It's a reasonable assumption considering they are supposed to be computer specialists and they can't even make a decent website. Furthermore, most of their pages are nothing but bulleted lists with the same black text and white background. The last thing I'd like to add before going to throw up is that the only page with pictures on it is the "links" page which takes visitors to other sites that take people away from this disaster.

Now, and example of good website would be the NFL's official website. As soon as you enter the site you see good size picture slide show in the center of the screen with links to the latest videos and articles at the bottom of the picture show. Another nice thing is that their color scheme matches the colors of their logos and links to every team are available by clicking on the team’s logo in the top banner. Another great feature is the navigation bar at the top, it isn't too big where it takes over the whole site, but it isn't so small where you can't read it. The links here bring you to any page a football could care about (standings, stats, scores, etc.). Unlike the other site, none of the links are broken and it has a good design scheme. I think it is pretty safe to say that the NFL didn't hire E.S.I. to design their website; they went to someone who actually had skills.

I agree with you on certain aspects however, I do think that the NFL Official website can sometimes... SOMETIMES, be over crowded. For someone who isn't used to the internet the site may be slightly overwhelming. But otherwise, yes I do agree with everything you mentioned.
